This position entails preparing proposals, tracking project budgets, lead the design team effort, working closely with project engineers to develop the design, coordinate with other internal departments and sub-consultants, attending public meetings as needed, invoice clients, manage the public bid process, coordinate with contractors and internal inspectors and communicate progress with the director and clients.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide engineering design and construction plans for highway and roadway improvements.
- Familiar with industry standards of design.
- Perform QA/QC review of design calculations or drawings.
- Work as a part of a team to complete general transportation engineering services for state agencies, counties, and municipalities.
- Responsible for managing project budget, and analyses throughout the entire project.
- Perform transportation engineering analyses and calculations.
- Preparation of reports and feasibility studies.
- Other duties as assigned.
- BS in Civil Engineering or similar field of study preferred
- 5 years’ experience in project management
- 3 years’ experience in Civil Engineering
- PE license not required, but preferred
- Roadway and drainage design (storm sewer, culverts, and water quality)
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D is preferred
- Strong written and oral communications
