POSITION OVERVIEW

Join our team at MSB as an Enterprise Software Sales Specialist and become an integral part of our field sales organization. We seek a motivated professional with a proven track record in selling advanced technology solutions to K-12 customers. In this role, you will take charge of sales activities in Texas, playing a crucial part in both our company's growth and your professional development. Your main goal will be to secure new partnerships with school districts for our software product. With your expertise in enterprise SaaS sales, you will be essential in securing new contracts and building strategic relationships with executive-level leaders in school districts. This position offers an exciting opportunity to impact and drive successful partnerships significantly.

Work Location: Texas-based, Remote/Home Office

Compensation:

  • $100,000-$120,000 (base salary) uncapped performance-based commission
  • Car allowance (mileage, wear and tear, toll tag included)

Travel Requirements: 70% state travel requirement, valid driver's license

Your Impact

  • Exceed revenue quota goals on a monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis
  • Demonstrate the ability to address each customer's and partner's unique inquiry while providing them with the proper information and appropriate solution based on their specific needs and interests
  • Understand and work in all aspects of the sales cycle, including qualifying, presentations, demonstrations, RFP responses, negotiations, and the closing process
  • Proven results in a quota-oriented sales environment and an understanding of technology and technological innovations
  • Proven negotiation skills and the ability to persuade and influence decision-makers and executives are required. Effective at presenting to executive management, i.e., C-Level
  • Acquire new partners to expand the number of students that use the software solutions offered by MSB.
  • Establish bold territory plans, which are comprehensive strategies for expanding our presence and driving sales in your assigned territory, to drive partnership activity and successfully manage the sales pipeline of opportunities. 
  • Aggressively pursue lead development, qualification, and conversion into opportunities 
  • Consistently prospect and close opportunities for MSB software to reach a high level of new account penetration 
  • Drive revenue growth through the acquisition of new, strategic, and large school district partnerships
  • Demonstrate strategic ownership of assigned territory through knowledge of funding, state initiatives, and regulatory mandates 
  • Develop and own a territory strategy to penetrate and grow the assigned geographic region 
  • Participate in and facilitate partner participation in informing MSB product strategies, design, timelines, and development 
  • Close collaboration with fellow sales team members as assigned 
  • In this role, you will experience a high level of travel.
    • Travel as required, on average at 70% within the state of Texas

  • Consistently apply proven sales methodology (i.e., Miller Heiman, Strategic Selling)

  • Ability to successfully manage sales relationships, pipelines, and opportunities in CRM system (Pipedrive preferred)

Education and experience 

Proven track record with impressive sales numbers 

Minimum Bachelor's degree in education, business, or a related field required 

Possess a minimum of 3-5 years of IT/software sales experience

Background in selling to the K-12 educational market 

Background in K-12 school district leadership (Superintendent or Superintendent cabinet)

Background in enterprise SAAS sales 

Experience initiating and acquiring relationships in large urban school districts 

Experience with MSB products, services, procedures, and implementation 

Deep understanding of the K-12 education industry and assessment
