No Weekends!!!Summary DescriptionAssists customers and solicits additional sales; charges out merchandise and makes necessary entries to the inventory control system; distributes special order parts; receives warranty parts; maintains shelf stock; keeps counter clear, clean and neat.
Major Duties And Responsibilities
- Greets customers promptly and courteously. Answers telephone promptly and minimize hold calls. Take orders over the phone.
- Maintains customer addresses, telephone numbers, etc. up to date.
- Attempts sales of additional items, parts, and/or accessories.
- Ensures that the technician and customer receives parts in a timely manner.
- Maintains communication with customers regarding their parts.
- Enters required information in inventory control system.
- Receives warranty parts and ensures that defective merchandise is properly tagged with correct date and numbers.
- Answer’s customer’s questions about pricing, products, availability and product features.
- Ensures cleanliness of the entire store, including products, counter area and restrooms.
- Ensures display areas are presentable and encourages sales.
- Ensures that product catalogs are current. Read catalogs to determine new parts on market.
- Assists customers in locating parts.
- Ensures all necessary parts are stocked and ready for purchase.
- Determines replacement parts required, according to inspections of old parts, customer’s requests, or customers' descriptions of malfunctions.
- Locates other vendors who have the part if it isn't carried in store.
- Recommends substitute parts if parts are available.
- Examine parts for defects and exchange defective parts.
- Check out customers via cash or credit card authorization.
- Maintain inventory of stock and replenish when needed.
- Measure parts, using precision measuring instruments to determine whether similar parts may be machined to required size.
- Mark and store parts in stockroom according to prearranged system.
- Maintains ongoing effective communication with customers about the status of their parts.
- Maintains an updated call log of part inquiries from phone calls.
- When working the parts counter, follows prescribed cash, credit transactions, batch and ensures that OEROB are completed daily.
- Processes cores, warranties, and new return merchandise as required at a point of sale.
- Ensures that OE tickets are maintained daily.
- Uses equipment and resources safely and proficiently.
- Keeps updated merchandise material in an organized state.
- Keeps himself/herself groomed per MSP guidelines.
- Verifies receiving documents.
- Performs other tasks as required by Upper Management.
