Our client, a reputable firm in Novato, is looking for a Tax Senior and Tax Supervisor to join their team. This firm specializes in Closely Held Businesses, High Net Worth Individuals, and Non-Profit Organizations.

Role Details:

This position is for an experienced Senior/Supervisor. In this role, you will be responsible for supervising a wide variety of accounting and tax engagements. You will assume responsibility for complex projects and review moderately complex work prepared by others, providing review points. You will also supervise, train, and mentor Staff and less experienced Senior Accountants. You will develop meaningful relationships with the Firm’s clients and participate in planning activities. You will actively work to execute the firm’s client retention strategies, ensuring that clients are highly satisfied, and identifying opportunities for expanding services.

This position offers an opportunity for rapid growth and advancement to Manager and above.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

• 4 years of experience at a public accounting firm.
• CPA is required.
• Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Tax, or a Related Field is required.
• Big 4 experience is a plus.
• Ambitious to grow within the company and mentor staff.
• Excellent client service and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and requests.
• Attention to detail and a strong work ethic.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Strong general accounting knowledge with significant experience doing trial balance work and complex journal entries.
• Technical knowledge sufficient to supervise Staff and Senior Accountants on financial statement audit, review and compilation engagements, as well as in the preparation of complex tax returns.
• Experience in preparing a wide variety of complex tax returns, and significant experience reviewing the work of others.
• Proficiency with tax law and complex tax research using available resources and platforms.
• Through understanding of GAAP, generally accepted auditing standards and common audit procedures and techniques.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of the Firm’s standard software, including Lacerte, ProSystems FX, and excel.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, assignments and deadlines, and to delegate appropriately and effectively.
• Experience in supervising and developing others.

Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid

Pay: $95,000 - $115,000 per year
