The Position:
The Avian Exotics (A/E) Overnight Technician works collaboratively with their veterinarians and the entire Angell support staff to provide Angell clientele with excellent clinical and customer service. These services include, assisting with case management of A/E animals admitted to the hospital, assisting with technical procedures, triaging patients, communications with clients and sometimes referring veterinarians. The technician assists the veterinarian in Inpatient/ER, clinic, radiology, surgery and in other areas of the hospital.
The technician must be able to interact with all staff members and clients in a positive and dynamic manner and provide technical advice following hospital policies and procedures. It requires knowledge specific to A/E clinical tests, procedures, protocols, medical terminology, and animal handling and math skills. The technician should be able to communicate, orally and in writing, veterinary specific clinical information regarding services to our clients and other hospital staff.
