Role And Responsibilities
- Service, troubleshoot, and repair complex equipment including centrifugal and screw-type chillers, central plants and all associated equipment, boilers, complete building systems, thermal storage systems, and complex specialty equipment.
- Perform scheduled maintenance on all types of HVAC equipment.
- Drive to and from customer sites as needed
- Train technicians of all levels.
- Troubleshoot air and water flow.
- Complete equipment log sheets for Project Managers and upload them into the database.
- Communicate with Team Lead, Coordination Staff, Sales Staff and Customers
- Complete assigned tasks with minimal assistance from Team Lead
- Complete all paperwork in an accurate and timely manner
- Observe, report and correct unsafe work environments
- Will be included in on call rotation as needed according to business volume and requirements
- Other such duties and responsibilities as assigned by the company from time to time.
- Proficient with troubleshooting, repairing and maintaining commercial HVAC equipment
- Knowledge of basic refrigerant cycle, various heating components and air distribution systems.
- Proficient with brazing, leak checking and the evacuation process
- Understands mechanical drawings and equipment specifications
- Ability to abide by basic safe work practices
- 7 years of commercial HVAC service experience
- Universal EPA Certification
- Ability to efficiently execute repairs with little to no technical assistance
- Ability to write reports.
- Ability to show up on time, ready to work and in uniform
- Ability to communicate with both internal and external customers
- Must have a valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Must successfully pass a background check
- Occasional sitting, frequent stooping, crouching, kneeling, balancing and climbing. Constant standing, walking, reaching and gripping. Vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to talk and hear. Occasional lifting up to 50 lbs. (maximum solo lift) and constant lifting to 25 lbs., placing this position in the very heavy physical demand classification (PDC)
- Exposure to weather, extreme heat or cold, high noise intensity level, atmospheric conditions, exposure to electrical shock, exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, wet and/or humid, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working high exposed places.
