Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties

-We are hiring for multiple vacancies and applications will be reviewed as they are submitted.
-Shift times are variable. The aquatic center is open from 5:30AM to 9:00PM
-Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Provides the initial point of contact for patrons entering the facility. Screens visitors and accounts for each patron through activity registration, daily drop-in fees, or attendance in activities and college classes. Assists customers by providing information or making referrals to the most appropriate personnel or service. Promotes and cultivates an environment that values diversity, equity and inclusion, and engages in evidence-based decision-making, while supporting the mission, goals, and values of the department and college.

Essential Duties:
  1. Provides excellent internal and external customer service and respectfully engages with all patrons and staff at the aquatic center Greets patrons, and monitors access to the aquatic center.
  2. Conducts point of sale transactions. Accepts, processes, and records cash and non-cash transactions related to activity registration, punch cards, and other revenue sources.
  3. Performs routine office tasks, such as filing, photocopying, data entry, responding to emails, assisting with updating department materials, and inventory tracking.
  4. Enforces the rules and regulations of the aquatic center.
  5. Ensures the safety of facility patrons by following the emergency action plan and responding to emergencies.
Minimum and Desired Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED
Experience/Training:
  • Experience in customer service
  • CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid Certification, or ability to obtain within three (3) months of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cash handling, payment processing, and daily sales reconciliation
Additional Qualifications and/or Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Ability to communicate effectively and courteously with patrons, staff and supervisor(s)
  • Ability to learn and impart information regarding programs and services
  • Ability to react quickly and effectively in emergencies and activate the facility's Emergency Action Plan
  • Ability to problem-solve and seek assistance when needed
Working Conditions and Important Information
Working Conditions Physical Requirements
Must be able to deliver emergency equipment poolside (automated external defibrillator, bag-vale masks, backboard) within 30 seconds of emergency notification; must be able to perform repetitive tasks such as typing on a keyboard.

Environment
Works variable schedule and exhibits regular and predictable attendance. Work may be performed in an office and recreation facility. Work may be performed in an outdoor or indoor facility during variable weather conditions.

Sick Leave
