Mt. Mansfield UUSD is Hiring a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) - Intensive Classroom Model Near Jericho, VT

Job Summary

The MMUUSD seeks a BCBA to join a team model in supporting students who need intensive programming and behavioral support. The BCBA will work as a team with a special educator and Behavior Interventionist. This position provides leadership, analysis and support in the areas of behavior analysis, promotes quality and compliance of programs and services to improve student achievement, and facilitates in the design of quality services for students with autism spectrum disorder or other behavior challenges by working with parents, teachers, administrators, staff and students. This position provides support to the school team in the development of discrete trial programs, verbal behavior, training associated with implementing these programs, and data collection to measure progress; to assist in the development of behavior intervention plans, and to collaborate on the development of individual education plans (if applicable) that are based on a variety of assessments.

  • Experience working with children/adolescents with a variety of psychiatric and/or behavioral disorders, including those on the autism spectrum.
  • Experience in providing behavior analytic interventions and assessments.
  • Ability to demonstrate behavior change through continuous progress monitoring.
  • Clear understanding of related service decisions regarding special education and educational access.
  • Knowledge of effective practice, clinical decision making, outcomes based intervention and their proper application in the educational environment.
  • Knowledge of areas of practice specific to pediatrics, including child development and specific diagnoses.
  • Ability to select and administer appropriate assessment tools and interpret results of assessment.
  • Ability to select and provide a wide range of intervention strategies and monitor their effectiveness.
  • Ability to plan, coordinate and provide training and continuing education both formally and informally to parents, school administration, school staff, community agencies, staff and other medical professionals as needed.
  • Knowledge of current legal mandates, including: Federal and State law, compliance issues, confidentiality requirements, funding procedures and requirements.
  • Physical ability to execute job responsibilities that may include: transferring and/or lifting students or equipment, managing equipment.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills that are clear, concise, accurate, articulate, professional and timely. Ability to listen actively and ability to facilitate.
  • Capable of effectively managing conflict and stress. Ability to remain calm and professional in stressful situations.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Behavior Analysis.
  • Board Certified Behavior Analyst certification (BCBA®).
  • VT Educator license with a Special Educator or School Psychologist desirable.
