Job Description The U.S. Property team of Everest Insurance, a member of the Everest Re Group, Ltd. is looking for an AVP – Retail Property to join our team. Responsibilities include but not limited to: This candidate will be responsible for assisting in the development a profitable book of business within the designated underwriting territory for Everest Retail Property, reporting to the Regional Head of Retail Property. The selected candidate will assist in implementation of a plan for growth in the region while creating brand awareness for Everest. This plan will include goals and objectives for the team as well as for the region. Responsible for marketing, production, and visibility in the region, acting as a key underwriting resource for the territory. Maintain and grow an assigned account list generating a minimum of $10M GWP volume annually, representing a wide array of clients. Potential to supervise and mentor at least one employee to build and expand his/her respective underwriting foundation and brokerage contacts. Act as a subject matter expert for key industry verticals and policy coverage items. Qualifications, Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business or related field, with insurance designations a plus. 7 to 10 years of relevant, retail property underwriting experience, with demonstrated skills to support leadership with strategies to support a profitable portfolio. Be self-motivated and independent while maintaining underwriting discipline to achieve strategic objectives. Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills Outstanding interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching and development skills. Ability to assess risk inherent exposures and natural hazards. The ability to travel up to 25% Knowledge, Skills & Competencies: Outstanding interpersonal relationship building with all business functions. Demonstrated abilities in employee coaching and mentoring. Strong analytical skills in dissecting risk and portfolio data. Excellent sales and negotiating competencies.
