Sterile Processing Technician
Progressive surgery Center is offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced sterile processing technician to join the team and help lead a successful surgery center.
Summary: Process and distribute disposable and reusable medical/surgical instrumentation and supplies in accordance with operating room and center policies and procedures.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Determines appropriate mode of sterilization for all reusable items.
- Maintains accurate documentation of sterilization for all reusable items and other items as needed.
- Demonstrates a clear understanding of all sterilization control measures.
- Maintains scopes & equipment in proper working condition
- Consistently demonstrates thorough appropriate cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization of all types of surgical instrumentation.
- Demonstrates careful utilization of center resources in handling of instruments and equipment.
- Consistently assembles trays correctly according to unit criteria.
- Demonstrates willingness to identify and/or assume activities relative to the developmental needs of the department.
- Participates in maintaining proper inventory supply levels.
- Attends all required safety training programs and can describe his or her responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job‑related hazards. Complies with regulatory requirements and standards of care
- Follows the center's exposure control plans, CDC’s Standard Precautions, and use of personnel protective equipment (PPE)
- Demonstrates respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, fellow employees, physicians, contractors and vendors to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment. Maintains and supports a culture of compliance, ethics, & integrity
- Promotes effective working relations and works effectively as part of a department team inter- and intradepartmental to facilitate the department's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
- Participates in department's quality assurance/quality improvement program.
- Works within scope of practice and according to center policies
- Maintains knowledge of policies and procedures and performs in accordance with the Principles of Responsibilities, applicable regulatory requirements, external laws, and accreditation standards
- Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
EDUCATION, TRAINING, AND EXPERIENCE:
- High School graduation or equivalent
- Completion of a certified sterile processing technician training program preferred
- One-year experience preferred
No "call" or holidays or weekends. 16-24 hours per week, 8- or 10-hours days available.
Job Types: Part-time, Per diem
Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
