The Machining Team Leader is responsible for the routine communication of job assignments and placement of production associates in assignments as required for the day. The role is responsible for ensuring the schedule is met within a team environment and will need to coordinate material, build and testing of raw material into a designated product.

• Review work order for production instruction and ensuring quantity of material(s) is available for production
• Ability to read and follow prints, work instructions and other manufacturing documentation
• Assign work to line workers on daily basis
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, motivate, council production associates in meeting individual production goals
• Responsible for the effective training of production associates
• Set up and operate machines
• Completes necessary administrative documentation associated with controlling and motivating associates
• Addresses performance improvement actions on individuals who are not meeting production standards
• Implement and refine manufacturing processes by applying continuous improvement and lean manufacturing principles to all areas of production
• Implement the principles of 5S throughout line operations
• Manage Shipping and Receiving including the preparation of shipping documentation for international shipments with associated customs declaration as well as checking incoming material against requisitions or invoices
• Ensure routine maintenance is performed on existing equipment
• Escalate production issues to the Plant Manager as needed
• Possess excellent interpersonal communication
• Proven/demonstrated ability to work with others
• Ability to follow directions, both verbally and written

• High School or GED degree, prior leadership experience either in the commercial market or military preferred
• Two years of experience in a similar role, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• Experience as a leader who’s demonstrated the ability to accomplish objectives through the efforts of others is desirable.
