MTM Trailer Manufacturing, a pioneering force in the development of high-performance, semi end-dump trailers, is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Manufacturing Engineer to join our growing engineering team in Kewanee, IL. In this role, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our manufacturing processes, ensuring efficient production of our industry-leading trailers.

Responsibilities:

• Analyze and improve current manufacturing processes for efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality control.
• Identify and implement process improvements, including lean manufacturing principles, to streamline production and minimize waste.
• Collaborate with design engineers to ensure manufacturability of new trailer designs.
• Develop and implement detailed work instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs) for production personnel.
• Troubleshoot production issues and identify root causes to prevent recurrence.
• Work closely with production personnel to ensure adherence to quality standards and safety protocols.
• Participate in the selection and implementation of new manufacturing equipment and technologies.
• Develop and maintain preventative maintenance procedures for production equipment.
• Analyze production data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare reports and presentations to communicate process improvements and production metrics.
• Develop and improve manufacturing technology, including but not limited to automation 

Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably within the trailer industry or a similar application.
• Proven experience in process improvement methodologies, such as lean manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing principles, including welding, fabrication, and quality control techniques.
• Experience working with aluminum fabrication processes is a plus.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Proficiency in basic CAD software (a plus).
