Job Summary: The Incident Management Coordinator (IMC) ensures that all qualifying incidents are reported to DC DDS and other relevant parties as per the governing regulations and as required by MTS policy. The IMC conducts internal investigations; tracks incident reports and coordinates follow up on investigation recommendations and tracks timely follow up and submissions.
Minimum Qualifications : At least three years of experience working directly with persons who have intellectual and/or other developmental disabilities; hold a bachelor’s degree; and be QIDP qualified. Must have the ability to work effectively among a diverse group of staff and individuals supported. Must have basic PC and internet navigation skills and the ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Licenses and/or certifications : District of Columbia Investigator Certification (Level I or higher)
Specific Duties :
- Reviews all incident reports prior to submission and distribution; ensures all are full and complete.
- Tracks timeliness of incident report submissions and reports monthly to the Director of Residential Services.
- Tracks the DC DDS Dash Board for MTS; ensures follow up is timely on all recommendations and ensures standard of proof documentation is submitted to the required parties in a timely manner.
- Participates as a member of the Incident Management Team which serves as the safety committee and assists in the development of the Quarterly Incident Trend Tracking Report as well as any follow up action plans developed based on team findings.
- Maintains incident and investigation master files.
- Attends all required DDS training and IMC team meetings; reports when necessary to the management team.
- Provides training on completing incident reports, incident management policies and protocols and other related concerns as requested and as required.
- Is the primary liaison with relevant DDS staff on incident and investigation concerns/issues.

- Provides guidance to investigators during specific investigations.
- Reviews all investigation reports prior to submissions and audits such reports against the established DDS criteria (i.e. the rating tool).
- Proactively tracks submission deadlines and informs investigators of upcoming requirements; shares feedback with the Director as needed.
