About the role:
The Multicultural Arts Center is seeking a creative and strategic thinker with fundraising experience in individual donor stewardship, grant writing, and/or event planning and a passion to wield the power of the arts to activate social change. This position offers the right person a chance to take a nascent development program and build it out to their skills and interests. Within the scope of core needs and opportunities, there is a good deal of space for the right candidate to take the program along the path you believe will have the most impact.
This role offers an excellent opportunity for a development professional to take a leadership role in establishing a robust fundraising arm of the organization, including running our first ever Capital Campaign to match funding, growing our two yearly campaigns, developing sponsor and business/corporate giving relationships, and supporting grant applications.

Job Description
The Development Manager will actively manage and grow our annual campaigns, develop corporate and foundation sponsorships and support grant writing. This individual will take a leadership role in establishing and growing a robust fundraising arm of the organization.
A successful applicant will have a proven fundraising track record, excellent communication skills, be self-motivated, determined and have a passion to wield the power of the arts to activate social change. As we grow, there is tremendous opportunity and need for a dynamic and engaged donor base.
The Development Manager is critical to enabling expansion of our high quality programming, artist residencies, free and low-cost shows and inspiring gallery exhibitions. You will be an important member of our small and dedicated team!
Development Opportunity:
We are a midsize nonprofit with an annual budget of $500K-600K. Our development portfolio includes a newsletter readership of 7,000 with a small base of ~50 annual donors, ~10 annual foundation and government grants, and ~10 annual business sponsors. Typically, foundation support makes up about 5% of our annual revenue, individual gifts make up about 4%, corporate support makes up about 1% and government grants make up 50%. The Development Manager will help the Multicultural Arts Center shift contributed non-government grants to at least 15% of our annual revenue.

This position is posted as a $30,000, 20 hr/week position. We welcome a conversation about salary, hours, and scale for the right candidate, as we intend this position to expand with our organizational growth. The position will be well-suited to an individual who might be looking for a part time position and who would be interested in scaling with us.

Location:
The Multicultural Arts Center currently has a hybrid work environment, however the role requires some portion of regular in-person hours consistent week to week. This position will include some evening and weekend events on occasion, which are subject to a flexible comp-time policy.
