Job Overview:
The Junior Electrical Estimator will play a vital role in supporting the development of accurate and competitive bids for residential electrical construction projects. You will work closely with senior estimators and project managers, to analyze project plans, specifications, and material costs to create comprehensive electrical cost estimates. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in the electrical construction industry and develop a strong foundation in electrical estimating.
Responsibilities:

• Assist senior estimators in preparing preliminary budgets, conceptual estimates, and detailed cost estimates for residential electrical construction projects.
• Review residential electrical construction plans and specifications to identify materials, equipment, and labor requirements.
• Research and obtain current market pricing for electrical materials, equipment, and labor.
• Request vendor quotations such as lighting and electrical switchgear.
• Utilize estimating software (excel/iPoint) and PDF software (Bluebeam) to compile and organize electrical cost data.
• Review and modify electrical cost databases.
• Participate in subcontractor prequalification and selection.
• Assist with the preparation of bid proposals and presentations.
• May perform occasional site visits to gather project information.

Qualifications:

• Preferred 1 year of experience in a related field, or a maturing background in construction or estimating
• Minimum apprentice level knowledge of residential electrical construction principles and methods.
• Basic understanding of construction drawings and specifications.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel,).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Willingness to be taught and retain information.
