The industrial electrician troubleshoots and maintains the electrical equipment that supports the treatment, collection, and distribution of water and wastewater. The position requires installation and repair of industrial electrical controls including VFDs (variable frequency drives), distributed control systems, distribution panels, switchgear, turbines, pump motors, valve actuators, soft starts, and motor control centers. This position also requires responding to emergencies in a professional and timely manner. Responsible for the maintenance and construction, which includes power distribution and switching, motor control and integrated sensors for all electrical equipment throughout the utility.
Under supervision, conducts instrumentation calibration, maintenance, and repair. The position is charged with the integrity of the Utility's plant-floor process instrumentation used for water quality; air quality; chemical manufacturing; process control; and regulatory reporting in an industrial setting. If selected for hire, the appointment in this position will be conditional based upon a satisfactory Municipal Employment Office conducted Background Check. A Background Check encompasses criminal history, verifying education, and verifying dates of employment.
As a condition of employment, the person selected must provide a Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 367 Union Dispatch Referral Form by the time of hire.
Military Service Interview Preference:
Veterans or who wish to be considered for interview preference as permitted in Municipal Personnel Rules 3.30.031 D must attach to the application a copy of their DD Form 214, DD Form 256, NGB Form 22, or a letter from the US Department of Veterans Affairs recognizing the person as a veteran.
