Our client, a Pittsburgh-based robotics company, is seeking an Electrical Engineer to develop and verify electrical devices, ensuring functionality, safety, and efficiency. The role involves designing schematics and PCB layouts, testing devices, and maintaining designs throughout their lifecycle.

The base salary for this position ranges from $100k to $150k, plus equity. The benefits package includes full medical, dental, and vision coverage, as well as a 401(k) plan. Our client also offers paid time off, a flexible schedule, and a hybrid work environment.

Responsibilities:

• Design and document electrical systems based on customer requirements.
• Independently and collaboratively handle projects involving intelligent sensor IoT and robotics products, including PCB and PCB stack design for automated testing and assembly.
• Develop technical specifications, conduct inspections, and maintain project schedules.
• Prepare cost estimates for internal and external customers.
• Inspect electrical components during and after installation and conduct failure analysis.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering; MS preferred.
• 5 years of experience in electrical design and project engineering, ideally in a startup environment.
• Proficiency in rechargeable batteries, cable harness, board-to-board interconnect design, and communication protocols.
• Experience in PCB layout for microcontroller and system-on-module interfaces, RF communication design, and CAD software.
• Strong troubleshooting skills using standard lab tools (DMM, Oscilloscope, Current Meters, Logic/Bus Analyzer).
• Preferred experience with SMT device sensors, drive control, hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems.
• Ability to work on US DOD controlled projects.
