Work ShiftJob DescriptionUnder the direction and supervision of licensed personnel, the Operating Room Aide assists in providing direct patient care and tasks required for daily unit functions.
Duties Include
- Obtaining equipment, supplies and positioning aids for operative cases.
- Assisting with setting up the operating room, holding limbs for surgical prep, and assisting with patient positioning under the direction of the RN circulator.
- Dismantling and transporting dirty instruments and equipment to the decontamination area.
- Performing room cleaning and turnover duties between cases and patient transport.
- Performing final checks of case carts to ensure that all needed supplies and equipment are available for surgical procedures.
Additional Job DescriptionMinimum Education: A high school diploma or GED is required.
Required Licensure, Certifications, and Registrations: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
