Job Description
More specifically, the Compliance Coordinator: (1) assists with the annual risk assessment, (2) remediates facility-specific compliance concerns; (3) develops and/or administers on-going compliance education; (4) conducts and/or oversees a variety of auditing and monitoring of activities, 5) researches and responds to compliance related questions; (6) stays abreast of and communicates changes to applicable regulations; (7) develops and oversees the functional compliance liaisons and their respective workplans; (8) facilitates and responds to any third-party compliance investigations; (9) presents applicable data and feedback to the necessary councils, committees, and other forms of leadership, and (10) maintains the compliance database for all site-specific activities conducted.
Additional Job Description
Bachelor's degree in a related field and a minimum of two years of medical billing coding experience or high school diploma or equivalent (GED) and four years of medical billing coding experience required; college degree preferred.
Preferred applicant will be credentialed as a coder by a nationally recognized accrediting body and certification must be maintained, i.e., CCS, CCS-P, CPC, or CPC-H. RHIA or RHIT preferred.
