The Unit Secretary processes physician orders places data on patient charts, keeps an adequate amount of forms on the charts, and answers the phone. She/he is responsible for keeping needed items ordered for the unit through materials management. Reports to the Charge Nurse/Clinical Director. May function as a preceptor for (and thus be accountable for) orienting unit clerks. Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate behavior. The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technologist (PCT) reports to the Clinical Director/Manager. Under direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, The CNA/PCT performs multi-skilled activities to support a decentralized patient-centered approach to patient care and achieve desired outcomes
PRN Status Clause:
This is a PRN as-needed position, you must be available to work at least 12 hours bi-weekly, as needed according to departmental demands. You may be required to work additional hours if requested by your supervisor to accomplish work objectives. Work hours may vary (increase or decrease) depending on the needs of the unit.
Additional Job Description
Education: A High School Diploma or GED required Certified Nurse Assistant certification for the state of South Carolina is preferred.
Licenses/Certificates: Basic Life Support (BLS) with the American Heart Association is required. If C NA South Carolina Certified Nurse Assistant is required.
