Donor Stewardship Manager, Board & Campaign (Regular, Full-Time)

Development 

Reporting to the Associate Director, Board Relations & Campaign, and working closely with the Senior Vice President of Development, the Donor Stewardship Manager, Board & Campaign, creates, manages, and implements the stewardship strategy for the LACMA Board of Trustees and for Campaign donors and prospects. The Manager is the central hub for Art Fairs (both domestic and International) and provides concierge-level service for board and campaign art world needs. The Manager is also the central contact and owner for board and campaign travel projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops cultivation and stewardship strategy for Board of Trustees and campaign donors including collateral, gifts, reports, and benefits
  • Project manages all cultivation and stewardship processes for Board and Campaign with a high level of detail 
  • Collaborates with Senior Vice President of Development on long-term stewardship strategies
  • Collaborates with the Graphic Design team and the LACMA Shop on the production of stewardship collateral and gifts
  • Brainstorm new and creative stewardship materials and methods to evolve with the projects and donor base
  • Plans and executes specific stewardship projects and touches, including writing notes and letters, coordinating large-scale mailings, and selecting individual gifts
  • Work closely with all members of the Board & Campaign team to understand the donor base relationships, history, and gift lifecycle 
  • Assists the Director of Artists Initiatives and the AVP, Planned Giving as needed on stewardship-related activities
  • Interfaces with donors and leads LACMA tours as needed 
  • Liaises with the Director’s Office and curatorial departments to identify potential travel opportunities for Board and campaign donors
  • Works closely with Development colleagues, curators, and travel vendors to prepare trip itineraries for board and campaign travel projects
  • Creates and manages budgets for Board and campaign-related travel programs
  • Works with major art fairs, as identified by Board and Campaign team, to credential and provide concierge-level service to the board and campaign donors 
  • Helps plan and execute any LACMA programs and events taking place during fairs for board and campaign
  • Develops and maintains art fair and travel contacts for Board and Campaign art world needs
  • Develops and maintains relationships with other museums and cultural institutions to provide and secure tickets, access, and special tours for trustees, campaign donors, and prospects
  • Acts as primary LA contact during art fairs and travel programming
  • Keeps informed about important developments in the global art world

Benefits:

  • The expected annual salary for this Los Angeles, CA based position is $66,560 - $68,000, subject to change, and the position is eligible for LACMA’s comprehensive benefits package, including pension plan.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least four years of experience with a museum or donor-based organization; experience in a development or fundraising environment is strongly preferred
  • Experience in providing concierge-level service to clients or patrons accustomed to an exceptionally high level of quality, responsiveness, and confidentiality
  • Experience with Google Suite, Adobe Suite, Basecamp, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Tessitura, or an equivalent ticketing and donor database software
  • Prior campaign fundraising experience or familiarity with the Building LACMA campaign is a plus
  • Excellent writing, organizational, communication and project management skills
