Music Ministry International is Hiring an Education coordinator Near Colorado, CO

The successful candidate forthis position will be a 1099 contractor with Music MinistryInternational and be responsible for thefollowing :

1. DESCRIPTION OFSERVICES

1.1 Scope ofResponsibilities :

1.1.1. The Religious Education(RE) Coordinator (herein coordinator) plans coordinates andimplements Religious Education for the Peterson AFB Catholic Parishin accordance with the 21 SW Airman Ministry Plan.

The coordinatorserves as the primary RE resource contact acts as the advisor andcoordinator of the daytoday operations of the RE program andadministers the Catholic RE of the Catholic military communityincluding military members dependents and otherparticipants.

1.1.2. The coordinator shallpromote an atmosphere of religious sensitivity to all Air Forcepersonnel participating in chapel programs.

However no form ofcoercion shall be employed by the coordinator or their employees tocause USAF personnel or their family members to conform to aparticular religious denomination or faith group either directly orindirectly.

The coordinator shall ensure that all key leaders andvolunteers comply with this nocoercion policy. Respect for otherreligious faith groups shall bemaintained.

1.1.3. The coordinator must be ableto work in a pluralistic environment alongside chapel staffcoordinators and others of various backgrounds ethnicities culturesetc.

1.1.4. The coordinator shall design andimplement RE programming for adults youth and children and willassist in building a solid spiritual foundation.

Programs mayinclude but are not limited to : Sacramental preparation for BaptismReconciliation First Eucharist Confirmation and the Rite ofChristian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).

1.1.5. Thecoordinator will also be responsible for recruiting and trainingteachers catechists and other volunteers for the RE programs.

Inthe event that RE teacher(s) are not available the coordinator maybe required to teach the approved REcurriculum.

1.1.6. The coordinator shall managethe daytoday operations of the RE program such as but not limitedto recruiting training assigning and overseeing teachers helperssubstitutes and other volunteers in the Religious EducationProgram.

The coordinator shall also inform the Catholic Chaplain orWing Chaplains designated representative of any needs issues orconcerns etc.

1.1.7. Contactor shall maintainprofessional conduct and present themselves in a neat clean andwellgroomed manner wearing business / business casual clothing foroffice work and other appropriate conservative attire forevents.

1.1.8. Coordinator will be notified inwriting by the Contracting Officer of all noncompliance work andshall be given an opportunity to correct if possible noncompliancework.

The coordinator shall respond in writing to any notice ofnoncompliant work within 30 days ofnotification.

1.2. Period of Performance / Place ofPerformance

1.2.1. This requirement calls forsupport at Peterson Space Force Base Colorado. The Period ofPerformance in the contract is anticipated from 22 September 202421 September 2029.

1.3 The coordinator mustparticipate in safety training and update skills asneeded.

1.4.Qualifications :

1.4.1. The coordinator mustdemonstrate the following via rsum orCV :

1.4.1.1. A bachelors degree or equivalentpreference will be given to education or ministrydegrees.

1.4.1.2. At least three (3) years ofexperience in Catholic Religious Education. Strong preference willbe given to experience in militarychapels.

1.4.1.3. Proficiency in written andspoken English communication.

1.4.1.4. Wordprocessing skills including the use of MS Office or similar (e.g.Microsoft Word Excel PowerPoint etc.)

1.4.1.5.Show a strong theological grasp of the Roman Catholicfaith

1.4.2. Archdiocese for the MilitaryServices USA (AMS) Catechist Certification : The coordinator shallhold and Archdiocese for the Military Services USA (AMS) CatechistCertification or be able to complete certification training within90 days of contract award.

The coordinator if not currentlycertified shall apply for and receive the AMS Catechist certificateto perform within the AMS.

This process will be conducted inaccordance with the current AMS Priests Manual. The coordinatorshall begin this required training and application process within30 days of contract award.

1.4.3. In accordancewith AMS Catechist certification requirements to be certified as anAMS catechist the coordinator must :

1.4.3.1. Be apracticing Catholic who has received the sacrament ofConfirmation

1.4.3.2. Be recommended by thesenior priest at the installation

1.4.3.3. Havesatisfactorily completed one course (or two seminars) through theUniversity of Dayton Virtual Learning Community for Faith Formationor Catholic Distance University

1.4.3.4. Applyfor certification using the appropriateform

1.4.3.5. Complete a favorable backgroundcheck

1.4.3.6. Complete a training program on theprotection of children and young people as called for by the DallasCharter.

1.4.4. The coordinator shall beresponsible for the AMS Catechist Certification fees and associatedcosts. Additional AMS catechist certificate information may befound at the AMS website :

1.5. Period ofService / Number of Units

1.5.1. This position willrequire 12 months of duty for the base year as well as four (4)option years.

1.5.2. A unit consists of one monthof service performance 12 units total peryear.

1.5.3. The coordinator is required to work20 hours per week but may be required to work up to 40 hours perweek during peak weeks.

Peak weeks may include the week before orduring Confirmation First Holy Communion and Holy Week / Easter etc.Any additional hours must be approved by the Wing Chaplain orChapel Contract Officer (CO) in accordance with the 21 SW AirmanMinistry Plan.

1.5.4. The coordinator willprovide regular customer service hours as approved by the WingChaplain. The hours shall be posted in an appropriate place wherecustomers can easily access them.

1.5.5. Hoursinclude Sunday morning programming weekly chapel staff meeting andCatholic Advisory Council meetings (as a nonvoting member).

Hoursmay also include training required by the Wing Chaplain orSuperintendent and other events as required by the Airman MinistryPlan.

1.6. Substitute ContractPersonnel / SubContracting

1.6.1. In the event of akey personnel change the coordinator shall provide notification tothe Contract Officer (CO) no later than 14 days prior toanticipated key personnel changes.

1.6.2.Substitute contract personnel and / or sub coordinators shall meetall the requirements outlined in this PWS.

1.6.3.Coordinator shall provide a list of substitute contract personneland / or sub coordinator and detail information of said substitutecontract personnel and / or sub coordinator to the CO forcoordination with 21st CONS within 30 days prior to changes inpersonnel changes performing the work.

This is in order toaccomplish required background checks verify educational andexperience requirements IAW the PWS.

1.6.4.Coordinator shall be responsible for payment of substitute contractpersonnel and / or sub coordinators.

1.6.5. The COor designee shall be notified at least 14 days before any scheduledleave of absence that would prevent the coordinator from performingthe services.

2. Duties and Responsibilities : Thecoordinator shall :

2.1. Develop scheduleimplement and monitor all Catholic Religious Education (RE)programs at activities. This includes but is not limited toassisting in the evaluation of the Catholic RE program andprocesses;

and coordinating volunteer support for any RE relatedprograms. Examples of specific programs may include Childrens REConfraternity of Christian Doctrine (CCD) Rite of ChristianInitiation of Adults (RCIA) Bible Studies Vacation Bible School(VBS) Volunteer Appreciation Rite of Christian Initiation ofChildren (RCIC) First Reconciliation First Holy CommunionConfirmation and other programs as identified by the AirmanMinistry Plan.

2.2. Organize classes recruittrain and schedule volunteers. If volunteers are not available thecoordinator may be required and should be able to teach and / or leadclasses programs or events.

2.3. Coordinatefacility requests for Catholic RE activities and programs. Thecoordinator will be responsible for ensuring security / tidiness offacilities used for Catholic RE programming.

2.4.Ensure that the tenets and teaching of the Catholic faith aretaught by catechists in the Catholic RE program. Only curriculaapproved by the Wing Chaplain and in accordance with the doctrineof the Catholic faith will be used for Catholic REprograms.

2.5. Ensure that volunteers maintaincurrent background checks in order to work with minors. Submitbackground check documents to chapel background checks monitor.

Support and participate in chapel background checks program inaccordance with DoD Chaplain Corps and localguidance.

2.6. Be present in the chapel at least30 minutes before the scheduled start of required programs. Thecoordinator shall stay until children are dismissed and all areasare returned to a neat orderly and securecondition.

2.7. Develop an annual calendar of allRE activities and budgets for the Airman Ministry Plan (AMP)working in concert with the Catholic Priest Chapel staff and othercoordinators.

2.8. Maintain records such as butnot limited to training for volunteers attendance records for allRE programs etc. Coordinator shall furnish numbers to the AFCCARSbase reporter or designee.

2.9. Maintain acurrent list of names and contact details of teachers helperssubstitutes other workers and students involved in the Catholic REprogram.

All personally identifiable information (PII) shall bekept confidential in accordance with the Privacy Act AFI 33332 andany other local procedures.

2.10. Arrange andcoordinate ongoing registration for Catholic RE events andprograms. Maintain rosters of students catechists and candidatesfor sacraments.

2.11. Attend Chapel StaffMeetings and Catholic Parish Advisory Council meetings. All meetinghours shall count toward unit hours.

Coordinator shall communicateupdates to Contract Officer (CO) or designee to ensure currentprograms / needs are up channeled to chapel leadership and thecommunity.

2.12. Manage the Confirmation Program.This includes recruiting Confirmation catechists organizing oneconfirmation retreat per year with the catechists and organizingthe celebration of Confirmation and receptionfollowing.

2.13. Coordinate volunteer trainingevents at least twice per year one in the fall and one in thespring. Provide additional individual training as needed orrequested by teachers.

2.14. Plan and implement(in conjunction with Chapel Staff and other coordinators) events orways to honor and recognize volunteers.

2.15.Maintain a stock of supplies for programs. Coordinator inventoriesresources equipment supplies and is responsible for requestingpurchases of items to meet the needs of the Catholic REprogram.

2.16. Coordinate the purchase of RE andother supplies with the Lead Catholic chaplain or designee. Thecoordinator shall submit accurate and timely CTOF or Appropriatefunds requests in accordance with AFI 52105 and applicable localguidance.

Purchases shall not be made without priorapproval.

2.17. Work with other coordinatorsChapel Staff and volunteers to publicize Catholic RE programs orevents via chapel bulletins signage social media etc.

as applicableand as approved by the Wing Chaplain.

2.19. Maintain a continuity file andchapel resources for the Catholic Parish consisting of materialssuch as books audio resources DVDs etc. forRE.

2.20. Comply with all applicable Air Forceand local instructions for financial management and accountingfacility use maintenance and security.

2.21. Beaccountable for paying any Social Security payments Federal orlocal income taxes and state unemployment insurance premiums forthemselves as well as any substitute contract personnel or subcoordinator(s) that render services under thiscontract.

2.22. Design and implement religiouseducation programming for adults youth and children to assist inbuilding a solid spiritual foundation.

2.23.Maintain healthy functional interpersonal relationships withpersonnel including chapel staff other coordinators andparishioners.

There will be no tolerance for disrespect harassmentor any unprofessional behavior or activity that could adverselyaffect the Air Force Chaplain Corps or local chapel team by erodingmorale good order discipline respect for authority unit cohesion ormission accomplishment.
