JOB TITLE: Career and College Readiness (CCR) Project Assistant

REPORTS TO: CCR Program Director

TERMS:
This position is a 190 total paid days position offering full family medical, dental, and vision benefits. Dental, vision, and life insurance are paid by the district at no cost to the employee. Personal business days and sick time paid. Retirement through the Office of Retirement Services (Pension Plus or Defined Contribution).

SALARY RANGE:
This position is on the NonUnion Hourly Scale, Grade F, $16.75-$22.06 per hour. 

GENERAL JOB FUNCTION: The Career and College Readiness (CCR) Project Assistant will assist in effectively managing MAISD and local district efforts in creating a career and college ready culture. This staff person works to assist the CCR leadership to implement best practices in schools to create greater postsecondary access for all. The CCR Project Assistant will be responsible for departmental records, program reporting and/or monitoring and other special projects managed by the Career and College Readiness team. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Possession of an Associate degree or higher. 
  2. No physical or mental restrictions that would, with reasonable accommodation, prevent performance of the essential job functions and responsibilities. 
  3. Ability to work independently or within a team in a fast paced environment. 
  4. Ability to organize short and long term duties and responsibilities is important. This position deals with a wide variety of tasks and requires good prioritization and organization. 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 

  1. Familiarity with K-12, higher education, Career and College Readiness (CCR) & Promise Zone (PZ) legislation and postsecondary access practices. 
  2. Strong interpersonal, organizational, oral and written communication skills.
  3. Commitment to providing exceptional professional customer service.
  4. Ability to work with and demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population.
  5. Experience in establishing and maintaining effective relationships with K-12, higher education, business and employers.
  6. Experience in helping to develop presentations and/or workshops for community members, educators and or students & families.
  7. Experience in managing multiple projects.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 

  1. Assumes responsibility for typical administrative assistant duties including phone and reception functions, word processing, data entry and spreadsheet creation, correspondence composition and distribution, mail distribution, and office machine operation.
  2. Provides a range of direct assistance to the assigned staff.
  3. Makes arrangements for meetings, workshops, professional development sessions, staff travel.
  4. Accepts responsibility for the coordination and facilitation of assigned special projects.
  5. Generates purchase orders, invoices, meeting minutes, budget reviews, departmental reports and correspondence, and other assigned materials.
  6. Accepts responsibility for maintaining necessary rules of confidentiality.
  7. Uses a variety of electronic data gathering and reporting systems required by the State of Michigan and/or the MAISD.
  8. Assist in effectively managing MAISD and local district efforts in creating a college and

career ready culture.

  1. Support scheduled events/marketing for Career and College Readiness (CCR) and Promise Zone (PZ) public relations.
  2. Assist in the dissemination of Career and College Readiness (CCR) and Promise Zone (PZ) messaging and marketing - Newsletters, e-blasts, etc. 
  3. Other duties as assigned by supervisor or designee.

NOTABLE PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: 
Some light lifting and general mobility may be required. 

OPPORTUNITY FOR ADVANCEMENT:

TYPICAL WORK ENVIRONMENT: 
Most work is performed in a school office, classroom, student worksites, and event venues. 

EVALUATION: 
Employees in this classification are evaluated according to current Board policy. 

TRAVEL EXPECTATIONS: 
Travel both within the county and throughout the state is required. Mileage will be paid based on the current State rate.

This position is on Grade F of the MAISD salary scales.
