Job Description
The ELA teacher will implement, and design educational curriculum aligned with the State of Michigan Common Core guidelines while upholding the mission, vision, and values of the Muskegon Heights Public Schools Academy System. Collaborates with families and other staff members to ensure academic success of all students. Evaluate and monitors students’ progress on a periodic basis.
Minimum Qualifications
· Bachelor’s Degree
· Current Secondary Michigan Teaching Certificate in content area or Michigan Temporary Teaching Authorization (T2EA), English (BA), (BX) endorsement - Highly Preferred
Duties and Responsibilities
Physical Requirements
· Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer or standing to teach.
· Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
· Must be able to traverse classroom and adjust one’s tone and height, by bending or leaning, to teach each student.
Security Clearance
· In alignment with Michigan law, if you are hired to fill a position, you will be required to submit to a Detroit Public Schools Community District criminal background check. Information regarding required background checks will be shared at point of hire.

Salary: $65,000 - $80,000
