GENERAL FUNCTION

Under the supervision of the Vice President of Human Resources carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll, benefits, performance and compensation, training, metrics and employee engagement.

MAJOR REPONSIBILITIES

  1. Maintain ADP Payroll System to ensure all information is accurate. Record and maintain employee information such as name, social security number, address, marital status, tax status, transfers, direct deposit, deductions, terminations and position and pay data within the ADP System. Export data to ADP Payroll System, making necessary adjustments as required to accurately produce weekly paychecks. Maintain accurate reports for PTO, VTO, Holiday, OT, etc., generating reports as required by upper management, auditors and to support disciplinary actions. Act as subject matter expert in the navigation and utilization of the system.
  2. Maintain Performance Pro and Compease performance appraisal and compensation data. Prepare reports and undertake tasks to support the Vice President of Human Resources with regard to employee performance and compensation.
  3. Assist in the administration of Mutual Security benefit plans, including healthcare, life insurance, long and short term disability, 401K, educational assistance, etc.
  4. Assist in the onboarding and offboarding process of new and terminated employees.
  5. Participate in Orientation and other training programs for employees.
  6. Assist with calculating useful HR metrics.
  7. Assist in development and implementation of programs, procedures, and guidelines to help align the workforce with the strategic goals of the company.
  8. Prepare employee communications regarding payroll, compensation, benefits and company policies, etc.
  9. Generate weekly general ledger, statistical summary and unused deduction reports as well as monthly payroll reports for submission to Accounting.
  10. Process weekly 401K payroll submission report by interfacing with our 401K provider.
  11. Promote Human Resources programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  12. Maintain employee files and records in electronic and paper form, ensuring both legal and regulatory compliance.
  13. For the purpose of maintaining Credit Union goals, it is the responsibility of each employee to strive for the continuous quality improvement of processes and quality of service to internal and external customers.
  14. Abide by all federal, state, and local laws including but not limited to: The Bank Secrecy Act, including the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) and Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN); Uniform Commercial Code (UCC); Federal Reserve Bank; and National Credit Union Administration (NCUA).

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Human Resources experience.
  2. Working knowledge of ADP Payroll and Timekeeping Systems.
  3. Familiarity with labor laws and practices.
  4. Experience in the administration of leave of absence, benefits and compensation programs and other Human Resources programs.
  5. Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Must include Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
  6. Effective oral and written communication.
  7. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  8. Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.
  9. Excellent organizational skills.
  10. Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  11. Analytical capabilities are a plus.

PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIRMENTS

  1. Sitting the majority of the time.
  2. The ability to occasionally lift, push, pull or carry up to 10 pounds.
  3. Occasional bending, squatting, twisting, climbing, reaching above, at or below shoulder level, and kneeling.
  4. The ability to meet deadlines and maintain accuracy.
  5. The ability to effectively interact with all personality types in stressful situations.
  6. Excellent ability to communicate effectively.
