mw components is Hiring a CNC Lathe Operator Near Houston, TX
CNC Lather Operator - Lathe is expected to operate machines to fabricate raw materials and/or parts. The Lathe Operator – loads raw material and/or parts in the machine and runs production, communicates with leadman regarding production runs, and maintains a safe, organized and clean work environment.
Essential FunctionsReasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Perform all assigned tasks which may include but are not limited to the following.
- Read blueprints and follow inspection in-process logs.
- Completes and maintains paperwork for operations and tasks
- Detects and reports defective materials to management or lead
- Maintain clean and orderly work area defined by safety procedures
- Completes routine maintenance on equipment, i.e. fill cutting oil and check filters
- Manual deburring required for specific jobs before / after machining operation is completed
- Understand function and importance of lot control
- Observe and follow company safety rules and regulations defined in Employee Handbook and Safety Manual
Qualifications
To perform this job satisfactorily, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must have a general knowledge of
- a work instruction/operation set up sheet ,if called by a different name
- machines and tools, including their uses, repair and maintenance,
- use of basic inspection equipment
- must be committed to quality, safety and communication.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or graduation from a certified technical school (preferred)
- Minimum 3-5 years of related experience running Manual Lathe/Manual machines
- Experience in setting up and running production on Manual Lathe/Manual machines
- Experience using multiple inspection equipment - Drop gages, pin gages, calipers, micrometer, etc.
- Experience machining tight tolerance parts /- .005 typically
- Must be able to understand/ read blue prints
- Must be willing to work with others in a production manufacturing environment
- Ability to work Over Time a plus
