The position of an assistant project manager (APM) is a training position as the APM works closely, under supervision, with either a project manager (PM) or senior project manager (SPM). The APM role is to assist with the planning, organization, and management of the day-to-day operations, as well as any other responsibilities the project manager or senior project manager sees fit.
The APM will assist the project manager or senior project manager with the owner’s contract, contract documents, and project estimate to produce a project in real life in accordance with those terms.
