Job DescriptionPreferred Qualifications: The Asset Liquidity and Funding Analytics team is looking to on-board an Engineer I in New York to extend the strategic Liquidity and Funding platform at TD Securities. The team is located in Toronto, Dublin and New York.
The ideal candidate would be a self-starting, motivated and high-performing individual who looks forward to being a strong contributor in a dynamic technology organization at a major bank. This complex role is on a team of highly talented technologists delivering solutions to the global markets business, providing front to back funding and liquidity metrics across a spectrum of capital market products.
Development OpportunitiesThis challenging role provides the candidate with the following career growth opportunities:
  • Contribute to the technical direction the future versions of our liquidity platform
  • Develop a deep understanding of securities liquidity and funding functions across different asset classes
  • Work in a dynamic environment with direct engagement to global stakeholders
Technical Skills
  • 5 years of Java experience, with a strong understanding of JVM internals
  • Experience of the Spring stack and experience in microservice development using Spring Boot
  • Experience in designing and integrating with REST APIs, gRPC endpoints
  • Experience of messaging technologies (preferably Kafka)
  • Experience of Hadoop, Spark, Parquet or similar Big Data technologies
  • Experience with RDBMS, demonstrable fluency in SQL
  • Experience of Azure (preferable) or AWS, Google Cloud
  • Experience of Git, CI/CD toolset (Maven / Gradle), Jenkins, working within an Agile environment
  • Strong understanding of clean coding practices
  • Knowledge of the following would be a plus: Scala, Angular, React, Python, Excel integration, ELK, TypeScript
Non-Technical Skills
  • Experience in collaborating efficiently within a global team
  • Strong communication skills
  • Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment, and supportive of flexible goals aligned with business priorities
  • Knowledge of capital markets products is a plus
The Engineer II develops and maintains technical solutions that adhere to engineering and architectural design principles while meeting business requirements. Provides technical expertise with a focus on efficiency, reliability, scalability, and security; includes planning, evaluating, recommending, designing, operationalizing, and supporting solutions in compliance with enterprise and industry standards.

Education & Experience
  • Bachelor or Graduate degree Strong academic background (e.g., computer science, engineering)
  • 7 years relevant experience
