The freedom to improve and streamline the month end process and internal financial reporting deliverables, always ensuring we meet local and group reporting requirements
Maintain the financial reporting control environment in accordance with SOX requirements
Support the management accounts process by identifying errors, extracting insights, and conducting thorough variance analysis to achieve an exec/board-ready standard.
Perform and review balance sheet reconciliations, identify discrepancies, implement process improvements, and mentor junior team members to enhance their reconciliations.
Drive clarity and insights on the balance sheet through in-depth analysis, presenting regular review decks for the Group Financial Controller to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborate with the Finance Systems team to identify and implement process improvements, better utilising Workday in areas including but not limited to: statutory accounts process, fixed asset depreciation schedule, IFRS 16 lease schedule, accruals, payroll journals etc
Liaise with external and internal auditors to ensure compliance requirements are met
High quality and efficient preparation of financial statements in accordance with IFRS
Lead and support on finance transformation and ad-hoc projects, to support the global finance tribe
Develop and mentor junior members across the Reporting & Accounting team
Develop and maintain excellent working relationship with colleagues across finance globally
What We Are Looking For
A professional accounting qualification
Experience of working in Big 4 and/or multinational experience
Demonstrated progression in prior roles with increasing responsibility, showcasing accountability and ownership of tasks
Excellent knowledge of UK GAAP and IFRS; familiarity with US GAAP is advantageous
Experience in working within a SOX control environment and driving process improvements
