The Amazon Studios Strategy & Ops Team is looking for a Sr. Studio Strategy Manager. The Studios Strategy team drives the long-term operational strategy of the Studio. We identify opportunities to deliver the creative scope and vision of our slate with increasing efficiency.
This role will work on cross-functional projects that cover long-term strategy and operations for Amazon Originals series and movies in the US and our 21 international territories - including long-term resource planning, opportunity and tooling identification, and investments/initiatives that scale studio capabilities effectively. We are looking for a self-starter with deep analytical experience, the ability to problem solve in ambiguous data environments, and a track record in influencing operational and investment decision-making. This role has regular interaction with different functional teams across Amazon Studios and Prime Video, and requires strong verbal and written communication skills to deliver results. The successful candidate will have operated a deadline-driven, results-oriented environment and will be able to operate both strategically and tactically. Prior studio entertainment experience is highly preferred.
This position is open to candidates sitting in either of these two locations: Culver City, California & New York, New York.
Key job responsibilities
  • Define strategies to increase the efficiency of our Studio operations
  • Conduct analyses and present solutions to guide Creative, Production, Business Affairs, and Finance Executives operating decisions
  • Lead analysis and operational forecasting at each phase of the content lifecycle (e.g. development, production, post) in order to recommend programmatic solutions
  • Partner with Finance, Product Teams, Business Intelligence and Data Engineering to identify opportunities for process improvement and data automation
  • Drive cross-organizational alignment and decision making around upcoming investments
  • Conduct research of production industry market trends and opportunities, including extensive competitive analysis and benchmarking

Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree is required in business, finance, marketing or related fields
  • 2-5 years of experience at an investment bank, private equity, management consulting, and/or a media/entertainment/tech company in a strategy/business development/analytical role with modeling experience
  • Strong analytical and quantitative modeling skills
  • Ability to autonomously define project workflows and work with stakeholders to define key business/operations questions and recommendations
  • Demonstrated success in achieving aggressive short, medium and long-term goals, with a proven ability to influence others
Preferred Qualifications
  • Media/Entertainment strategy or business development experience
  • Masters in Business Administration degree is preferred
  • Knowledge of creative, production, post production processes and related workflow
  • A passion for content production and/or entertainment
  • Expertise in data mining, data management, reporting, and SQL queries

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $93,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $199,600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
