MOODY'S RATINGS is hiring a Vice President, Senior Credit Officer for our Funds and Asset Management Team based in New York. This role involves managing a portfolio of asset manager and fund ratings across North America, providing insightful credit analysis and research, being involved in methodology development and engaging with the investor community.
We are seeking a motivated, ambitious individual to provide insightful credit analysis and research, to ensure rating accuracy and engage with the investor community. This challenging and high profile role would suit someone who is passionate about demonstrating their credit and analytic competence, while engaging with C-suite executives, finance and credit specialists.
Operating across North America, you will have immediate visibility and impact, whilst working on real cases where the application of your skills and expertise will have an impact in financial markets. You will be responsible for ensuring ratings accuracy and providing insightful credit analysis. This opportunity involves maintaining an in-depth knowledge of the asset management and fund finance sectors. Your thought leading credit research, along with targeted outreach to the market, will enhance Moody's relevance and expand our brand and reputation as a trusted source of credit insight.

Role/Responsibilities
  • Conduct rigorous and insightful analysis. Write in-depth, high quality and focused research on credit trends in the asset management and fund finance sectors credit. Become recognized as the authority on your portfolio of asset managers, funds and developments in the sector.
  • Ensure ratings accuracy. Perform and present at committees in-depth fundamental credit analysis on a portfolio of North American asset managers and funds. Develop detailed understanding of relevant Moody's methodologies and ensure ratings are accurate and forward looking
  • Build relationships with asset management companies. Engage regularly with investors, intermediaries and the media, communicating critical credit views and demonstrating deep industry and company knowledge. Manage and foster relationships with the highest level of professional integrity, transparency and fairness.
  • Publish research reports: produce topical, insightful, forward-looking and transparent research reports covering rated companies, sector-wide and cross-sector credit themes. Deliver thought leadership through conferences, webinars and podcasts.
  • Collaborate at all levels within the organization. Be responsible for coaching junior rating analysts and developing their credit skills.
Qualifications
  • Strong academic background at least equivalent to an MBA/CFA
  • Proven credit/risk assessment experience including strong financial analysis experience built over 15 years , likely gained from roles with exposure to funds, lending or debt capital markets
  • Deep understanding of asset management and fund finance sectors (i.e. subscription credit facilities, NAV lending, middle market lending, etc.), including key regulatory developments, main players, and key industry drivers
  • Excellent communication skills - able to communicate clearly and succinctly, both verbally and in writing with considerable public speaking experience
  • Strong quantitative aptitude and proven analytical skills
  • Highly organized and efficient, with ability to multi-task and able to meet tight deadlines
  • Willingness to travel across US

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is [[$231,400 - [[$335,500, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
