- Machine Operator
- 3nd shift : Sunday-Thursday : 10 : 00pm-6 : 30am
- Must be able to train on days for 3-6 weeks

Summary
The Machine Operator performs essential job functions within the manufacturing department. This position is responsible for ensuring continuous product flow.
This position is also involved in new product development.
Duties
- Set-up and operate machines of a similar type (conventional or CNC) on a regular basis (includes tooling changes and programming CNC controls)
- Preventive maintenance of machinery
- Work on a variety of complex parts to close tolerances with average to complicated set-ups
- Work with minimal support or supervision
- Select appropriate feeds, speeds & tooling
- Assist in problem-solving and troubleshooting of equipment breakdowns and production efficiency issues
- Assures appropriate material and tools are available
- Support Lean Enterprise, Quality, Safety & Productivity initiatives through appropriate levels of participation
Experience
REQUIRED :
- High School Diploma OR GED
- Must obtain knowledge of the general Health & Safety procedures of Kennametal Inc.
- Good communication skills
- Must be mechanically inclined and able to demonstrate strong mathematical skills
PREFERRED :
- 3-5 years’ experience in the manufacturing environment is preferred
- Machine operation experience
- Ability to work in a team environment
