What a typical day as a Material Handler might look like :
Responsibilities :
- You’ll provide shipping, receiving, storage and order fulfillment services for clinical sites and laboratories.
- What will you do?
- Pick, pack, sort, arrange, count, store, and accurately process items for storage and / or shipment in accordance with established procedures and customer requirements.
- Sustain a high level of quality to ensure customers receive accurate product and in the time requested.
- Assist in receiving biological specimens, chemical compounds, clinical agents, and / or Investigational products.
- Verify the quality, type and quantity of materials received are accurate and that the appropriate documentation is present (e.g. packing list).
- Weigh dry chemical compounds
- Aliquot liquid biological samples or products.
- Perform general documentation management (ie generate, review, archive, or destroy).
- Work in a warehouse environment under various temperatures ranging from ambient to -196 C.
- Assures compliance to cGMP parts 210 and 211 and company quality systems.
- Follows standard operating procedures (SOPs), facility safety guidelines, and Food & Drug Administration (FDA) requirements which may include compliance with cGMP CFR parts 210 and 211 where applicable.

Qualifications :
- Education / Training : High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Prefer work experience with data entry, shipping / receiving, sample management.
- Need basic digital literacy to navigate inventory systems, Microsoft Office, and shipping software in order to support the operation in its daily functions.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively verbally and in written form.
- Prefer knowledge of Universal Precautions, general laboratory, and quality assurance / control.
