Local HVAC Company / Controller

Pay: $65k-$85k a Year Depending on Experience

Hours: Monday-Friday 8-5

Job Responsibilities:

• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial statements.
• Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other regulatory requirements.
• Oversee month-end and year-end close processes.
• Assist in the preparation of the annual budget.
• Monitor budget performance and analyze variances.
• Provide financial forecasting and analysis to support strategic decision-making.
• Develop and maintain a system of internal controls to safeguard company assets.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Conduct internal audits and implement improvements as necessary.
• Lead and manage the accounting team, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to team members.
• Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Oversee cash flow management and forecasting.
• Manage relationships with banks and other financial institutions.
• Ensure adequate liquidity to meet operational needs.
• Ensure timely and accurate filing of all tax returns.
• Liaise with external tax advisors and auditors.
• Stay current with tax regulations and implement necessary changes.
• Conduct financial analysis to support business decisions.
• Provide insights and recommendations to improve financial performance.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports as needed.

Job Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's Degree is required; a degree in Accounting is preferred.
• 3 years of full-cycle accounting experience is required.
• Knowledge of percentage-of-completion accounting is required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, Outlook; Adobe programs; SAWIN/Great Plains and/or other accounting programs.
• Knowledge of local sales and use tax filing requirements.
• Experience with general ledger functions and month-end/year-end close process.
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
