What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auto Claims Representative position at N&D?
Responsibilities:
- representing N&D® as a service oriented member of our claims team, responsiveness with policyholders and agents is of the utmost importance
- establishing timely contact with policy holders, claimants and witnesses following the report of a claim
- analyzing policy terms to ensure that the coverage sought applies to the loss event
- investigating loss facts to determine liability and to rule out fraud
- assessing appropriate damages and negotiating settlements
- monitoring vendor usage and controlling expense costs
- order police reports and speak with police officers to gain more knowledge on the claim
- send appropriate emails to policyholders, agents, and attorneys
- draft up letters to send out for coverage denials
- report claims to other insurance carriers for subrogation purposes
Qualifications:
- be driven and interested in progressively more complex roles within the organization
experience working in a customer service field - 1 or more years of claims experience preferred
- Bachelors Degree
- be comfortable engaging in negotiations with consumers and attorneys
- posses strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- posses the ability to work independently and in a team environment
- be proficient in Word, Excel & Outlook
