I. Position Summary

Assist in cleaning the bar, preparing garnishes, ensuring the bar is well stocked with napkins, straws, glassware, garnishes, and all other necessities, and taking on other duties to support the Bartender and ensure that the bar operates smoothly.

IIa. Job Functions

• Ability to execute all host and server assistant job functions
• Back facing responsibilities from the bar top down
• Assisting with setup, cleanup, prep work, and equipment maintenance of the bar
  • Cleaning chairs, booths, and floor inside and outside the bar as needed
  • Assist in cleaning glasses, utensils and bar equipment
  • Assist in preparing garnishes
• Assisting with opening and closing duties, such restocking the bar with garnishes, straws, and napkins, ensuring that Bartenders have clean towels, glassware, etc.
• Have the ability to read and fulfill items on the prep list
• Ensuring bar is well-stocked with ice, liquor, wine, and beer.
• Checking taps and appliances to confirm that they are working properly, making minor repairs or changing out kegs, if needed.
• Assisting bartender with service well at manager discretion
• Keeping the bar clean by wiping down surfaces, sweeping and mopping, removing soiled glassware, scrubbing coolers and storage areas, washing all dishware, and emptying trash receptacles.
• Full knowledge cocktail recipes.
• Upon request of manager, taking orders, opening tabs, and processing payments especially during peak hours.
• Keeping keg room clean and groomed at all times
• Knowledge of bar pars

IIb. Job Functions Repeated in Host and Server Assistant Description:

• Understanding and utilization of table and seat numbers and ability to perform pivot system
• Making each guest feel welcomed and valued
• Deep cleaning tasks
• Understanding and utilization of POS functions
• Full knowledge of menu items
• Ability to maintain an accurate bank
• Fully understanding how to prioritize yourself, maintain dining room, safety and sanitation, company policies, and the basic steps of service.
• Retrieving order from kitchen and ensuring accuracy before delivery to guest
• Abiding all state, federal, and restaurant liquor policies
• Ensuring sanitizer buckets are in accordance to health standards and changed every 2-4 hours
• Labeling prepared food and understanding of the labeling system
• Verifying guests who purchase alcohol are at least 21 years of age, and that alcohol is consumed in designated areas
• Using TAM techniques to monitor guest’s alcohol consumption
• Providing excellent service when delivering food and drinks to each guest and getting additional items quickly and efficiently

III. Job Requirements

• Must be at least 21 years of age (unless state law allows 18 years of age)
• Company required certification cards
• 1-year experience in food service/hospitality preferred
• Must have basic knowledge of the hospitality industry and focused on exceptional guest service
• Experience in a night life setting is preferred
• Must have a well groomed disposition to make a favorable impression
• Ability to bend, twist, and stand to perform normal job functions
• Ability to speak, read, comprehend, and converse comfortably with guests in English
• Must be able to stand, walk, carry food long distances for up to at least 8 hours with minimal break time in fast-paced, crowded, and noisy work environments
• At times, must be able to lift at least 50 pounds off the ground
• Must be able to maneuver through the restaurant and tables
• Willingness to work late nights
• Accurate math/cash handling skills
• Compliance to any reasonable request by management
• Willingness to help bartender as requested
