We are seeking an experienced and skilled Sushi Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. As a Sushi Chef, you will be responsible for creating exquisite sushi and sashimi dishes, ensuring high-quality standards, and delivering an exceptional dining experience to our guests. Responsibilities:

Sushi Preparation: Prepare a wide variety of sushi rolls, sashimi, nigiri, and other traditional Japanese dishes with precision and creativity, ensuring the highest level of taste, texture, and presentation.

Menu Development: Collaborate with the management team to create new and innovative sushi offerings, considering seasonal ingredients, customer preferences, and culinary trends.

Quality Control: Ensure the freshness and quality of all ingredients used in sushi preparation, maintaining high standards of food safety, sanitation, and cleanliness in compliance with health regulations.

Order and Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels, place orders for necessary ingredients, and effectively manage stock to minimize wastage and maintain cost control.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with kitchen staff, sushi assistants, and servers to coordinate timely food preparation, maintain smooth operations, and ensure excellent service delivery.

Training and Mentoring: Provide guidance and training to junior sushi chefs and assistants, imparting knowledge of sushi techniques, knife skills, and proper handling of ingredients.

Customer Interaction: Interact with customers, explaining sushi options, making recommendations, and accommodating special requests to ensure an exceptional dining experience.

Equipment Maintenance: Maintain and clean sushi preparation equipment, including knives, cutting boards, sushi cases, and other tools, ensuring their proper functionality and longevity.

Stay Updated: Continuously research and explore new trends, techniques, and ingredients in the sushi industry, staying up-to-date with evolving culinary practices and sharing knowledge with the team.

Qualifications:

Experience: Proven experience working as a Sushi Chef in a high-volume restaurant or sushi bar, with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in various sushi techniques and presentations.

Culinary Skills: Extensive knowledge of traditional and contemporary sushi-making techniques, including sushi rice preparation, fish selection, slicing, and handling, rolling, and garnishing.

Creativity: Demonstrated ability to create visually appealing and innovative sushi dishes while maintaining authentic flavors and textures.

Food Safety and Sanitation: Thorough understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation standards, ensuring a clean and hygienic working environment.

Time Management: Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and meeting deadlines.

Communication: Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, take customer orders, and provide exceptional customer service.

Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and maintaining composure during busy periods.

Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a physically demanding environment.

Culinary Education: A culinary degree or diploma in sushi or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
