NAMI Georgia, Inc. is Hiring a Development Administrative Assistant Near Atlanta, GA

About the position: The Development and Events Administrative Assistant will support NAMI Georgia’s multi-million dollar fundraising initiatives, providing project coordination and organization for ongoing cultivation and events. Coordinating calendars, creating prep material for important cultivation meetings, and sending follow-up emails and documentation when needed. Much of the work in this role is in executive support of the Associate Director of Affiliates and Awareness and the Executive Director. This is a great opportunity for someone with experience in corporate marketing, event planning, and communications, who is ambitious and great at managing projects and is interested in growth potential witin the organization. This person will be particularly successful in this role if they can work independently, be flexible, and efficiently execute plans while collaborating with others. Strong technical and communication skills, proficiency in social media, excellent organizational abilities, computer/database proficiency, and multitasking skills are essential. In this role, they’ll be able to lead exciting initiatives, interact with and learn from high-level executives and board members, and hone their leadership skills. This person will report to Katie Cook, Associate Director of Awareness and Affiliates.

Primary roles & responsibilities:

Supporting relationships and cultivating individual donors

● Contribute to NAMI Georgia’s financial sustainability and sustained impact by supporting the Associate Director of Awareness and Affiliates in building and maintaining relationships with foundations and donors.

○ Tracking streamlined processes for cultivating, securing, and acknowledging gifts. We currently use Kindful and Bloomerang.

○ Organize marketing efforts with businesses, individuals, and organizations interested in supporting the NAMI Georgia’s events and activities.

○ Coordinate the maintenance and fostering of community relationships, ensuring the promotion of the NAMI Georgia’s programs, and communicate effectively with executive level staff.

● Coordinate and support NAMI Georgia’s development strategy operations.

○ Managing NAMI Georgia’s donor database (Bloomerang), keeping information updated and using data to glean insights on how development strategies can be improved.

○ Assist the Associate Director of Awareness and Affiliates, by coordinating an annual fundraising strategy with clear, measurable goals and objectives.

NAMIWalks and Other Events.

● Coordinate and manage timeline for planning, promoting, and producing multiple events throughout the year:

NAMIWalks: This person will coordinate NAMIWalks preparations with the Associate Director of Affiliates and Awareness. NAMIWalks preparation and execution includes:

■ Coordinating communications to participants and teams, sponsors, and other volunteer leadership

■ Assist and follow up on organizing event logistics (site selection, event programming, vendor procurement, etc.)

Additional events: In support of the team, assist in other NAMI Georgia events throughout the year, including the Annual Membership Meeting, bi-annual state conference, etc. This includes coordinating with social media and other marketing personnel, sponsor cultivation, and logistics planning.

Grant requests and administration (as needed)

● Assist the Associate Director of Awareness and Affiliates, in conjunction with a contracted grant writer, with researching and editing grants as needed.

● Organize and manage development reports and tracking systems as needed.

Qualifications:

Professional Experience

● Innovative, Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, or related field (Preferred)

● Previous experience in Executive Admin, Marketing, Fundraising, or Event Planning

● Excellent interpersonal and communication skills: the ability to communicate effectively and diplomatically

● Excellent organizational and task prioritization skill sets.

● Demonstrated mastery of skills and abilities required to coordinate events and development campaigns. (fundraisers, conferences, etc.)

● Strong writing and editing skills

● Strong project management skills

● Previous administrative or writing experience in a marketing department or in a marketing/ad agency a plus

● Experience coordinating and maintaining relationships with donors and funders is a plus

Knowledge, Capabilities, & Interests

● Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-motivated & confident; excellent work ethic

● Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously

● Desire to work as part of a team and willingness to promote the principles and views of NAMI Georgia

● Ability to work well with people from all backgrounds with varying degrees of experience

● Confident public speaking and able to express ideas verbally and in writing

Technical Skills

● Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (the person in this role will likely use Word, Excel, and PowerPoint quite often) and Google Drive

● Proficiency or working knowledge of Bloomerang CRM or other CRM/donor database systems

● Proficiency with Wordpress, Hubspot, ActiveCampaign, Mailchimp, Canva, and/or Hootsuite (or any social media scheduler) are a big plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
