Position Overview: We are seeking a visionary Principal Engineer of AI who is transformational and hands-on, to lead our AI engineering efforts and drive innovation in our product development. This role is pivotal in shaping Nanonets' AI strategy, architecting scalable AI solutions, and mentoring a team of talented engineers to deliver impactful results.

Key Responsibilities:

• AI Strategy and Roadmap: Define and execute the AI technology roadmap aligned with Nanonets’ business objectives, driving transformational innovation in document processing.
• Technical Leadership: Lead by example in designing and implementing complex AI algorithms and models, leveraging deep expertise in deep learning, computer vision, and natural language processing (NLP).
• Hands-On Development: Architect and develop scalable AI solutions, contributing directly to the codebase and solving challenging technical problems.
• Team Mentoring and Development: Mentor and coach a team of AI engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and technical excellence.
• Research and Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in AI technologies and methodologies, evaluating their potential applications to enhance Nanonets' products.
• Collaboration: Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product management, research, and customer success to deliver cutting-edge AI-powered solutions.
• Quality and Performance Optimization: Ensure the quality, scalability, and performance of AI models and algorithms through rigorous testing, optimization, and benchmarking.
• Technical Documentation: Drive the creation of technical documentation, guidelines, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and maintain high engineering standards.

Qualifications:

• Technical Expertise: 5 years of hands-on experience in AI research and development, with a deep understanding of machine learning, deep learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), and scalable AI architectures.
• Leadership Skills: Proven track record of technical leadership, with experience in architecting and implementing complex AI solutions from concept to deployment.
• Innovation: Strong passion for innovation and solving complex technical challenges, with a demonstrated ability to drive transformative AI initiatives.
• Education: Master’s or Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field. Publications or patents in AI-related fields are a plus.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate technical concepts and mentor team members effectively.
