Job Summary:
Performs customer services such as opening new accounts, establishing direct deposit accounts, opening retirement accounts, and assisting customers with queries concerning bank services. Responsible for the development of new business relationships and maintaining existing relationships. Answers questions on all services the bank provides and recognizes selling and referral opportunities. Responds to customer inquiries in person, via telephone, and Internet. Major Duties, Responsibilities,
Activities:
• Opens deposit accounts including CDs on the deposit subsidiary system.
• Verifies that proper customer identification is retained and that appropriate credit investigation is performed for each new relationship
• Complies with all state and federal banking laws, policies and procedures regarding BSA/OFAC/USA Patriot Act.
• Determines that all necessary documentation for regulatory and internal bank purposes has been received.
• Through customer interview process, determines appropriate deposit account types and options based on customer needs.
• Researches and resolves customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other bank departments when necessary.
• Proactively identifies cross sell opportunities and refers to other bank personnel as appropriate.
• Serves a backup teller during peak times.
• Performs receptionist duties as required.
• Follows proper security procedures when opening or closing the Office.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Job Requirements/Qualifications:
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum one to two years of experience in customer service.
• Successful completion of in-house training program.
• Proficient computer skills
• Excellent organizational and interpersonal communication skills
• Knowledge of bank deposit products and banking regulations
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent customer service, communication, and organizational skills
• The ability to prioritize and make on-the-spot decisions regarding customer transactions, weighing customer satisfaction issues with Bank exposure to loss or fraud.
• Basic knowledge of bank products
• Ability to work well under pressure
• Ability to cross sell bank products and services
