JOB SUMMARY:Provides safety and security to the students, public, and all users of the Nantucket Public School Buildings and Facilities. Performs routine security duties which frequently require moderate measures of responsibility and judgment in assisting the public and solving problems. Work is generally performed indoors with infrequent exposure to rain, snow, and cold weather conditions when monitoring the school building grounds and exterior. Makes constant contacts with the general public.QUALIFICATIONS:Requires high school diploma or its equivalent.One to two years’ experience in security work or a related field.Must be able to communicate effectively and courteously with the student body, staff, and general public.Must have a valid Massachusetts Driver License.Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time and move (push/pull) or lift objects weighing between 20 and 60 pounds and bend, kneel, and squat.
