NAR Training is Hiring a SkillBridge Simulations Instructor Near La Grange, KY

SUMMARYCandidate(s) enable a high level of learning by participating in various courses of instruction relating to medical provider education outside of the hospital setting. Candidate(s) should be able to provide podium-based classroom instruction and/or have the capability of maintaining the learning environment in various field & scenario settings with direction provided by North American Rescue (NAR-T) staff members. Candidate(s) will frequently work with other instructors and staff members and in various settings. NAR Education & Training goals are to provide students the highest quality of education while maintaining a competent, approachable and humble attitude. NAR Training will provide all audio, visual, props, training equipment and other necessary gear to fulfill the training mission.

Enhances the student(s) training value in high fidelity scenario based training, as well as drills and skills labs by providing a live moulaged patient, opposing force (OPFOR) and scenario extras. Candidate(s) should have or be able to perform basic acting skills and be able to portray specific injuries and roles with directions provided by a NAR Training, LLC (NAR-T) medical instructor or staff member. Candidate(s) will frequently work with a Moulage Artist to replicate specific injuries and illnesses in support of the training exercise. Candidate(s) will often change into US/NATO uniforms, Appropriate OPFOR clothing, or civilian based attire. NAR-T will provide all props, wardrobe, training vehicles and any necessary gear to fulfill the training mission.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.  This is not an all-inclusive list of duties and responsibilities. Projects/duties may be added as needed to support the training mission.

  • Applies appropriate knowledge, skills, abilities and personal experiences to assigned courses of instruction
  • Prepares and maintains lesson plans, as necessary
  • Works closely with Medical Operations Staff and Ground Operations staff, as required
  • Applies acting skills to assigned role-player role during scenario based training in an operational environment
  • Prepares and maintains training gear needed for each scenario
  • Works closely with Special Effects Artist when moulage is required
  • Assists Ground Operations Assistant Manager with any necessary task

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES• Act as a patient and/or member of a US/NATO, Foreign National, OPFOR element or scenario extra based on the training scenario requirements. • Act as a patient for clinical skills labs and testing at the NAR-T training facility. Role Player will be used for medical assessments, TCCC/PFC skills, NREMT Skills Testing, Paramedic Refreshers and any other applicable skills stations as required. • Ability to memorize, present and act out specific signs and symptoms of your simulated injury/illness(s).• Maintain organization and cleanliness in Role Player work area• Clean and maintain all equipment used for a training event as needed. Including and not limited to: Vehicles, IED simulators, Paintball Markers, safety equipment, facilities, mobile command trailer, and any other equipment/areas as required. • Any other duties assigned in support of the training mission

QUALIFICATIONS

Education/Experience:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Acting experience preferred• Basic medical knowledge• Military/Law Enforcement exposure is recommended but not necessary

Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position has no supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates both in austere environments, as well as static climate controlled facilities. This position routinely uses blank firing rifles, UTM training munitions, Paintball Markers, and other OPFOR training aids. Role Players will often be transported in company training vehicles, Civilian EMS Ambulances, military vehicles and aircraft.

Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms. Physically fit to conduct basic infantry skills to include running in all terrains, climbing over obstacles, and carrying 60lbs of military gear in inclement weather conditions. Must also be able to assist in lifting/moving simulated casualties in the field, up to 200 lbs. If unable to fulfill these tasks, you are NOT disqualified from this position and will be considered on a case-by-case basis. Position Type/Expected Hours of WorkThis is a Part-time (variable), as-needed position. Days and hours of work are based upon the needs of the current client and course schedule. Must be flexible with hours and willing to work nights and weekends on occasion.

Travel is expected for this position.
