Ambulatory Surgery Center in Nashua looking for a Rockstar Per Diem PRE-OP / PACU Registered Nurse!

Our center has an excellent culture with positive leadership! We understand the importance of work-life balance. This position reports to our PACU Supervisor and Nurse Administrator. Our facility is surgeon owned and has no hospital affiliation. We are open Monday through Friday and are closed holidays and weekends!

Do you have the following qualifications?

  • Positive, Reliable, Flexible, and a Team Player
  • Minimum 1 Year PACU Experience
  • New Hampshire RN License
  • Basic IV Competency
  • BLS, ACLS, and PALS (We can help obtain certification)
  • Minimum Associate Degree

Job Description:

Department: Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Primary Purpose:

The clinical nurse utilizes the nursing process as a professional registered nurse in prescribing, delegating, coordinating and evaluating nursing care for patients and their families. The clinical nurse assumes full responsibility for the nursing plan of care. The nurse has the authority to make and is held accountable for patient care management decisions specific to assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of the plan. The surgical clinical nurse provides care to patients, pediatric to geriatric, undergoing surgery (potentially requiring Anesthesia and Oral sedation). The clinical nurse will practice collaboratively with physicians, clinical peers and anesthesia when necessary.

Leadership/Communication:

The Pre-Op / PACU RN represents the department in all aspects of customer service from patient relations, to fostering relationships with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and nursing and promotes positive customer relationships with patients and their family members. Utilizes both written and verbal communication skills to establish collaborative relationships with other healthcare professionals. The goal of providing safe, effective and efficient patient care is a priority. Able to function as a resource and a preceptor as well as demonstrate the cost-effective use of resources.

Professional Development:

The individual must be able to perform the essential functions of the role of a staff nurse in their area of service with respect to delivering patient care. Make sound clinical decisions while integrating and analyzing patient data and perform interventions legally, safely and efficiently. Must be able to communicate effectively and establish a cooperative working environment that promotes courtesy, compassion, and respect to patients, visitors, healthcare professionals and co-workers. The individual must be able to perform all activities outlined in the department specific competencies. Must be able to accept and provide constructive criticism and initiate appropriate action to correct a situation. Identifies self-learning needs and independently seeks opportunities to increase knowledge and skills.
