Job Description
Nashville Skin is seeking bilingual ( Spanish/English ) Medical Assistants (MA) to work in our Nashville locations. This position is for 4 days per week (Monday through Friday), 10 hours per day in General Dermatology . Candidates for this position must be bilingual (Spanish/English), possess great time management and organizational skills; be motivated, committed, and dependable team players who are able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Summary of responsibilities:
- Able to set up patients in an exam room, review their medical history, explain procedures and consent patient for procedures, often in Spanish.
- Able to set-up for all procedures with proper instruments and forms to be completed.
- Assist physician while in exam room with procedures, such as excisions, draw up lidocaine syringes and administer lidocaine injections and IM injections.
- Able to perform wound dressings and give post op instructions to patients and inform patients of biopsy results, often in Spanish.
- Able to complete 90% of patient charting, fill out lab forms and requisition forms correctly.
- Record all biopsies, cultures performed, and lab worked requested in correct log books.
- Clean, package and sterilize instruments.
- Maintains patient confidentiality and follow HIPAA protocols.
- Knowledgeable about OSHA protocols.
- Other tasks as assigned.
Requirements:
- Current MA certification preferred, but will consider years of experience in lieu of a certification.
- Fluent in Spanish, required.
- Experience in Dermatology a plus, but not required.
