Songwriter Relations: Membership Events

The Nashville Songwriters Association International is currently interviewing for our Member Representative position. As the world’s largest trade association for songwriters, the 57-year old organization has around 5,000 current songwriter members at any given time and we serve thousands more songwriters (both professional and aspiring) in some way throughout the year. The Member Representative position not only answers calls and greets people when they come in, but he/she also does some scheduling, event management and member services. This position requires a candidate who has an outgoing, welcoming personality and has a genuine desire to elevate aspiring songwriters.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must embrace NSAI’s mission to support songwriters through advocacy and education.

• Strong interpersonal verbal and writing skills.

• Be a “self-starter” and goal driven to initiate relationships with songwriters and industry professionals.

• Be organized and exhibit “follow through” on tasks and goals.

• Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, work well in a team environment, demonstrate presence, self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.

ACTUAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Meet with members weekly in-person and via zoom.

• Assist receptionist with phones

• Cover lunch break for receptionist

• Meet with all walk-in members

• Lead on Educational Events planning and execution (Tin Pan South Songwriters Seminar and more)

• Work with Director of Membership to create new and innovative events

• Proactive outreach to potential members

• Booking of our local chapter Tuesday workshops.

SALARY/BENEFITS:

This is a full-time salaried position. In addition to compensation, the organization also offers excellent health and dental insurance to all employees and pays 100% of the premium as well as paid vacation and holidays.
