Job DescriptionNate’s Fine Foods Job Description Job Title: New Product Development Assistant Reports to: NPD Manager Department: New Product Development Revision Date: 05/10/2021 Summary: Nate’s Fine Foods is a fast paced and dynamic food facility preparing products for some of the US' best retailers, restaurants and food service. The Development Kitchen is where our innovative products are brought to life by our fantastic team of Chef's. We are looking for a new Assistant to support the team during the day, Mon-Fri. Duties Include: Help to organize samples requested by customer, prepares samples as instructed, wrapping, packing and labelling. Prepare grocery orders and/or shop in person for development, testing and shoots Stocking of raw materials to be used in kitchens and effective stock rotation. Maintaining the day-to-day sanitation of the kitchen including but not limited to washing dishes, cleaning floors, equipment and workstations as needed Collecting analytical data for formulas and documenting Documenting Preparations and Cooking Methods Assisting process with plant trials Preparing sauces for production Assist in collection of samples Assist with customer visits – i.e., helping to set up room, organizing lunch, cleaning up Keeping the sample log up to date daily/weekly Essential Skills and Qualities: Culinary experience in a professional kitchen or previous work experience in a food manufacturing or food service environment Be reliable and dependable in attendance Ability to multi-task and prioritize Self-motivated individual who can work with limited direct supervision Basic math skills, High School Diploma or GED a plus Strong communication skills Ability to lift (up to 45lbs), stand for extended periods of time Push, pull, squat, bend and reach above and below shoulder level Ability to complete repetitive tasks Able to withstand working in a noisy environment (with safety gear provided) Attention to detail and able to work quickly and accurately Be able to work flexible hours and be willing to adapt to changes in instructions and tasks WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, wet conditions and slippery floor. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate and employees have the option to use hearing protection.
