Natera is Hiring a Remote Billing Specialist 1-Temp
POSITION SUMMARY:
All patient-specific eligibility verifications with payers, appeal follows up / submission, claim submissions/ investigations, product grid and analysis of current patient status and manage various reporting functions. The candidate must ensure strong organization, including strict adherence
guidelines and regulatory requirements. The current role is a key contributor of modifications to internal/external department protocol's and SOP's for current processes to expand upon additional product lines of payer submissions. Establish priorities, ability to multi-task accordingly. Confer with Management to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedule and coordinate the flow of work within or between departments
to expedite project efficiencies - Follow up on adjudicated claims, as well as submission of claims
- Submit and follow up on payer specific appeals
- Resolve patient and clinic billing inquires
- Adhere to pre-established guidelines and specific instructions and
training, to effectively perform the functions of the job - Write and review standard operating procedures for common departmental
tasks/duties - Attend variance meeting and document problems that occurred on job in
order to facilitate solutions. Coordinates interdepartmental meetings
pertaining to efficiencies of role/task. - Assists account staff with special projects as needed
- Other duties as assigned by Management.
- This role may have occasional access to PCI and PHI both in paper and electronic form and could have occasional access to various technologies to access PCI and PHI (paper and electronic) in order to perform the job.
- Employee must complete training relating to HIPAA, PCI, and PHI privacy, General
Policies and procedure Compliance training and security training as soon as
possible but not later than the first 30 days of hire. - Must maintain a current status on Natera training requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Required- High School Diploma- GED
- Preferred Bachelor's degree, or equivalent in Healthcare, Marketing,
or Business related field - 2 years of experience in healthcare insurance billing, knowledge of
third party insurance in regards to plan types (HMO/PPO/POS and Indemnity)
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time
- Ability to work with limited supervision
- Ability to be a proactive problem solver
- Must be able to analyze many variables and choose the most effective
course of action quickly/ work on additional tasks as requested by
Management - Must be able to handle novel and diverse work problems on a daily basis
- Must be able to communicate feedback in a professional manner.
