National Association of Home Builders is Hiring a HR Manager Near Washington, DC

Group: Human Resources

NAHB is looking for a HR Manager to join the growing HR department. The HR Manager is responsible for effectively managing HR-related activities including recruitment, benefits administration, policy implementation and employee communications. This role ensures that managers receive the necessary support and expertise for staffing and plays a pivotal role in employee engagement and culture development through organized events and communications. Additionally, the position involves providing manager-level benefits administration support and collaborating closely with employees, brokers and carriers to resolve issues and maintain morale.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage all phases of the employment lifecycle for employees.
  • Provide guidance to hiring managers and oversee the recruitment process.
  • Represent NAHB at job fairs and networking events.
  • Serve as the point of contact for the acquisition of temporary staff.
  • Develop and coordinate HR-sponsored staff activities and events.
  • Provide confidential advice and counseling in compliance with employment laws.
  • Conduct New Employee Orientation and manage the onboarding process.
  • Manage benefits administration and annual open enrollment process.
  • Work to resolved escalated benefits inquiries.
  • Provide backup support for HR-related payroll changes and communication with the payroll team.
  • Oversee internal and external HR-related communication in partnership with the CHRO.
  • Ensure accurate and timely HR communications.
  • Track hiring, staffing and other HR related data, and prepare related reports and analysis.

Qualifications:

  • At least five years of proven experience in Human Resources. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Experience in recruitment and managing the recruitment lifecycle.
  • Knowledge of employment laws and regulations, and experience in administering them in a human resources environment.
  • Customer service oriented.
  • Familiarity with HR systems and payroll software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
