Join National Dentex - a leading healthcare organization specializing in the dental industry. Our team is growing, and we are hiring a number of key positions within our organization including this opportunity at NDX Connecticut Dental Lab in Rocky Hill, CT for a Fixed Department Manager. 

The regular hours for this position are from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday, and subject to change from time to time.

Primary Responsibilities and Essential Functions of the Position:

• Act as liaison and intercessor between Department Managers and General Manager.
• Communicate with Sales/Marketing about ideas for upcoming promotional events.
• Insure we have adequate equipment and staff to support sales.
• Communicate with Doctor Relations Team and Supervisors to ensure our customers’ needs are being met.
• Education and training for Managers.
• Assist in training new technicians on all phases of products.
• Assists with product pricing and task values.
• Perform evaluations of managers and technicians at their appropriate intervals.
• Budget yearly payroll increases for non-production team members
• Complete appropriate forms documenting absences due to illness, vacation, tardiness, etc.
• Perform any necessary disciplinary actions and terminations in accordance with company policies.
• Monitor production flow to prevent unnecessary overtime.
• Plan improvements in techniques and work flow.
• All other duties as assigned.

Skills and Abilities Required:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English
• Must have computer skills including typing and familiarity with Microsoft Office products.
• Verbally communicate with all levels of staff, leadership and customers maintaining a positive demeanor and nurturing teamwork.
• Must be familiar with Performance Management processes, Project Management, Coaching, Quality Management, and Developing Standards.

Minimum Education and Experience Required:

• Required: College degree or equivalent work experience.
• Required: 5 years manufacturing experience.
• Required 5 years of management experience.
• Minimum 2 years dental technician experience, exhibiting competency in area of expertise in order to guide and train others.
• Demonstrated leadership skills, obtained through experience or recognized through observation.

Physical Requirements:

• Perform tasks at multiple workstations-standing and sitting for extended periods of time.
