Stellar has an exciting opportunity for a Database Specialist II to support the Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in the Dayton, OH., area.
Position Description:

• Provides technical expertise in the use of Database Management Systems (DBMS).
• Defines file organization, indexing methods, and security procedures for specific user applications.
• Analyzes user interfaces, maintain hardware and software performance tuning, analyzes workload and computer usage, maintains interfaces with outside systems, and analyzes proposed system modifications, upgrades and new commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) products.
• Prepares required documentation, including both program-level and user-level documentation.
• Performs database administration (DBA) services including installation, configuration, administration, performance monitoring, tuning, backup, and disaster recovery strategies for operational and developmental databases.
• Provides database design, client/server integration, database modeling & support for systems under development.
• Coordinates functional design & system architecture issues between parties involved in the development process.

Duties:

• Perform the following on either MS SQL Server or legacy MS Access databases:
• Supporting troubleshooting issues with host database.
• Updating database as required due to troubleshooting.
• Updating database as required for approved enhancements.
• Support internal organization Integrated Digital Environment applications.
• Design/develop integrated database applications in MS Access, integrated as needed with SQL Server back end.

Certificates/Security Clearances/Other
Required:

• MUST have a current/active Secret Security Clearance.
• MUST have a current/active IAT II (i.e., Security ) or higher certification.

Additional Qualifications/Responsibilities
Required Experience:

• 3 years of appropriate experience is required.
• Experience with MS SQL Server, MS Access, and SharePoint site administration.
• Requires a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, or related scientific or technical discipline is highly desired but will accept an A.S. Computer Science degree or a H.S. Diploma with a minimum of 10 years computer experience.
• MUST have a current/active Secret Security Clearance.
• MUST have a current/active IAT II (i.e., Security ) or higher certification.
• U.S. Citizenship is MANDATORY.
